A 1-day motorcycle loop around Cascades du Hérisson, Baume les Messieurs, combining scenic roads, viewpoints and varied terrain, ideal for an enjoyable day ride starting from our base.
We start towards Geneva by Vandoeuvres, then cross the bridge of Mont Blanc.
It runs along Lake Geneva to Bellevue, to take the direction of Gex, then the "col de la Faucille".
You can enjoy the panorama of the Alps in the hairpin turns.
Les Rousses, Morbier.
The "cascades du Hérisson" (Hedgehog's waterfalls) are a set of 31 waterfalls on the river "Le Hérisson" (Hedgehog). The entire tour takes about 3 hours.
For a shorter visit, you can stop at the car park "l'éventail" on your right, the footpath starts on the. You can see the "Eventail" Waterfall, which is 65 m high.
We continue the road that winds up nicely to Vevy, where it goes up north to Baume-les-Messieurs.
Baume-les-Messieurs, ranked among the most beautiful villages in France, is located at the bottom of a bowl surrounded by high rugged cliffs in the Jura plateau.
The caves, the Benedictine abbey are remarkable. The route takes you to a cul-de-sac, from where you can view the waterfall, while having a lunch break.
We return to Vevy looping near Lons-le-Saunier, then we head south through forests and along the river "l'Ain".
Oyonnax, Bellegarde.
A Valleiry, it goes east to pass by St Blaise and get on the Salève, then back to Annemasse.
